Vegas Veg* is a group based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Vegas Veg* is run by vegans and vegetarians who have a passion for making a difference for animals, the planet, and people. Vegas Veg* focuses on ending human dependence on animals by promoting a compassionate, healthy plant-based lifestyle through grassroots educational activities.

How long in Vegas? Since 1999 (but moved to NYC for 2 years and came back to Vegas). I'm originally from San Luis Obispo, CA.
How long vegetarian/vegan? Pescetarian since 1982, vegetarian since 1984, vegan since 2007 (plus a 1 year vegan stint as a 13-year-old)

Why veg? Animals are friends, not food.
Favorite veg-friendly Vegas restaurant or favorite home-cooked meal? Ed's home-made red beans and rice. I also love the vegan "tuna" melt at Red Velvet and the "chicken" dishes at Long Life.

How long in Vegas? I moved to Las Vegas from Santa Cruz California in 2005, I was Pescetarian at the time.
How long vegetarian/vegan? The last time I had any animal flesh was June 08. two months passed with out realizing it had been that long without any meat. Then I realized “Why do I need to consume any meat at all? A couple months later I was convinced that I didn’t want to eat any animal derived products. I was told of the tragic lives cows & chickens go through not only for human consumption but also for their milk and eggs.
What kind of veg? vegan
Why veg? As a child I wasn’t told the grusem stories about live stock, or what they must go through, their entire lives, (organic or not). As I learned, I eventually became Pescetarian, and now, I love my vegan life. It’s rewarding & I’m always learning. I’m doing it mostly for the Animals. My health and the planet as well.
Favorite veg-friendly Vegas restaurant or favorite home-cooked meal? My Favorite veg-friendly Restaurant is The Red Velvet café, the Vegan Tuna sandwich is my favorite meal so far. Their menue is full of lots of options. I also love vegan cupcakes.
What do you like to do for fun? I love spending time with the Vegas Veg ‘family’, meeting new people, Roller Skating, eating, boating, movies, travel, & of course music. As well as educating others about the health benefits of Veganisum.

How long in Vegas? I am originally from Massachusetts. I have been in Las Vegas since 2000, moved away in 2008, but returned 8 months later.
How long vegetarian/vegan? Since 2005

Why veg? My Mom has been a vegetarian for 20 years, she chose to be because of her love for the animals. So, the concept has always been in my mind, but once I got my first dog as an adult I just couldn't see myself eating another animal. I really never was a big meat eater anyway mostly just fish and only once in a while.
Favorite veg-friendly Vegas restaurant or favorite home-cooked meal? Komol Restaurant and my favorite home cooked meal is pasta with vegan meatballs and nutritional yeast with a side of broccoli and brussel sprouts.
What do you like to do for fun? I like to ride my road bike, yoga, take my three dogs for walks, seeing a movie at the theater, eating out, and traveling to places I've never been.
